Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Julia asked: "I have just started machine stiching on my cards. Do you use a different size needle (sewing machine) on cards or the same size as you would use on fabric? The holes on the cards seem a little large.
A: I use the same needle I used to use for piecing fabrics for quilts. The needle I am using is Schmetz Universal 130/705H 80/12. I use the regular settings for tension as well. Sometimes I have to lower the tension just a bit.
Have fun sewing on your projects. I LOVE the way it looks and am addicted to adding sewn border to my cards.
Feedback From Past Tutorials
Katherine has a suggestion for the heart box tutorial: "Great tutorial. The only thing I would do different is adhere the sides to the bottom stiff heart before I attached it to the very bottom."
