Pull-out Scrapbook
Corinne Somerville's album idea is a great way to record favorite summer memories. They're easy to create and would be a perfect keepsake of a short trip, birthday party, family member or just because.

Q: Barb asked: "I have a really tough time getting punched holes to line up straight. My SU! template keeps slipping as I try to use it to punch in a straight line or to add decoration to a corner or make a punched hole border decoration. Is there some trick to get the template in place and keep it in place while I use it to punch holes? I've tried Sticky Strip™, which tears the paper when removed and other types of tape but with little success. Your watercolor background card punched hole corner decoration looks great and super straight! What's the secret?"
A: Have you tried using removable adhesive on your template? It will hold your template in place while punching holes. I usually just hold it down and use an anywhere hole punch and hammer to make holes instead of using punches. Another option to try is that plastic needlepoint canvas. You can get it in sizes large enough to cover a whole card front so you don't have to worry about it moving. Gina K posted a tutorial after hearing about TexasJodyLynn's solution to this problem. You can see it here.

Kathy has a suggestion for the Chalkboard technique: "To really accent narrow stems, petals, etc. try outlining with a fine gold or silver pen. It is very dramatic with pastels on dark paper."
