Thank You For Your Kindness!
I wanted to share with all of you a heartwarming letter I got from one of our Cards For a Cause recipients, hosted by Dirty Dozen alumna Teresa Kline.
A few weeks ago I got a letter that really touched my heart from Mary Larson, with the Hospice of St. Francis in Florida. Anyone who has ever had a loved one in hospice knows what great work these organizations do, and this particular organization had been the recipients of one of our Cards for a Cause challenges.
Mary wrote us this: "Good morning, The Splitcoaststampers have been very kind and generous to us by including us in their 'Cards for a Cause' effort. We have received many beautiful cards which are given to our hospice patients on their birthdays. At this time we are running very low on birthday cards and I wondered if there is some way we could get the word out to anyone who might like to donate some extras to us. I know we have been selected as the charity for Cards for a Cause twice already so if that isn't possible we understand, but if anyone has 'leftovers' we would be happy to have them. Thank you for all you do, the cards have meant so much to our patients and their loved ones."
I never cease to be amazed at how much a hand stamped card means and how generous our community is with causes like these. I forwarded her note to Teresa, who shared it with the Cards for a Cause challenge participants - who, of course rallied again.
I then received this from Mary: "Just wanted to let you know that so far we have received 80 beautiful cards from some of your members and we are overwhelmed by their generosity and talent! Thank you so much for featuring us. We have sent personal thank you notes to each stamper. Again, we appreciate being featured so much so that we can continue to send beautiful, hand-made greetings to our patients on their birthdays."
You do amazing things at Splitcoast and often they really are a lot more than stamps, ink and paper.
If you'd like to send some birthday cards to the Hospice of St. Francis, or any of our other wonderful cards for a cause destinations, please visit the Cards for a Cause challenge forum.
Thank you for sharing your time, talent and heart with us here at Splitcoast. And a big thanks to Teresa for running this wonderful challenge.
