This is a 5 in 1 challenge; so does that make it a quintuple challenge? Well, I was busy this week and didn't get to do any of the great challenges on their days, so had to do them together. I work way too slow to do 5 cards in one day, unless they're all the same.
First, for the Featured Stamper: congrats to Michele! I chose This
to case. You'll understand why when you see the sketch challenge. This fit just perfectly w/ it. I used images instead of pics, changed the colors and obviously, this is a card instead of a scrapbook page.
For the colors: wild wasabi, white and taken w/ teal. These are some of my favorite colors in the whole world. No way was I missing this.
The sketch was such a terrific one, I had to do it. The ways to use BIRDS. Another of my all time favorite subjects. Limited to brads and no other embellishments. Not a problem. Brads are the one thing I use consistently. Faux & real. I really tend to forget to use the piles of other embellies I own.
What I did: I stamped the bird & greeting (both HA, but different sets) on white linen w/ coal ink. Stamped the bird again on plain white, teal and wasabi so I could piece his wings. Added a little color w/ markers & a water brush. Edged w/ a green marker, layered onto teal & dp which had both been edged w/ a black marker.
I cut all the little squares first then placed them in the cb bird folder so I could get birds on all of them. Highlighted the birds w/ a little white ink and edged w/ black. Added the brads in the center of the embossed swirls. Layered onto dp w/ thin foam tape.
I used my Score It to divide up the teal bg and besides adding a little more interest, it also made placing the squares really easy. Layered onto dp then onto a 5 1/2" square white card. Attached the bird layers in the center w/ foam tape and the pieced little bird on top w/ thin foam tape. After all that typing, I'm pretty tired now, lol. TFL

Oh Julie, why does this card not come as a surprise to me? 5 challenges - no problem for Julie! I've read and reread your narrative and still have no idea how you created this magical card! I love what you've done here: your squares are so perfect; your birds are exceptional; your colors divine; and your paper is the be all and end all to creative artists (of which I am not). Fabulous challenge card. I can so see why this was perfect for you!

Wow 5 in one! This is a gorgeous card you know. The birds in different places in the squares are so lovely that way. The birdie in the middle too. Great take on the 5 challenges. Don't you love Michele's gallery. TFS
