My card will be sent to my niece's husband who just arrived in Iraq for his 3rd tour. I wanted him to know how much we care and that he is "ALWAYS on our minds".
For the challenge Lori had us think about when we first started doing vintage type cards.
Well I've been stamping about 3 yrs. and loved the vintage sets that SU offered......I have several sets but they quickly became retired. However, my interest seemed to spark when I purchased a Crafty Secrets Altered Alphabet booklet at a Scrapbooking store. I purchased more items from there and have loved being inspired by the weekly challenges.
So this card has the "Altered Alphabets" which I inked with Blue Bayou.
The celery layer is stamped with the sanded bg in blue bayou, and the base layer is soft sky sponged with blue bayou. (sky, bayou & celery, this weeks color challenge)
The central image is from CS Seasonal booklet distressed and sponged with BBayou. I needed to carry the color of the alphabet over to my sentiment so I sponged on color plus mounted it on another one of the alphabet cut outs.
Whew! that was long....why didn't I just say everything is sponged with Blue Bayou! Hope I didn't bore you! TFL
