Here is my card for today's sketch challenge, and what a fun sketch it was! I have been wanting to use my True Friend set and I thought that the Outlaw dsp (retired) would be perfect with it.
The bottom layer is creamy caramel cs and I stamped the Weathered bg on it in creamy caramel ink. I also stamped the sentiment from True Friend in chocolate chip ink. The second layer is close to cocoa cs, and it is actually a strip at the top and bottom (to cut down on the weight of the card). The design paper layer is made from Outlaw dsp and a piece of sage shadow cs. I stamped the stem from True Friend on the sage panel in stamped-off close to cocoa. I adhered the panels over the cocoa strips and added some faux stitching between the panels using the All In A Row set and chocolate chip ink. I tied a piece of 1/4" chocolate chip polytwill ribbon around the entire panel. I stamped the big flower image from True Friend in chocolate chip ink on very vanilla cs. I colored it in using the sage shadow and creamy caramel SU! markers. I sponged cocoa ink around the edges of the vanilla panel. I matted this with close to cocoa cs and used my cutter kit to distress the edges. I felt like the top right side was naked, so I added some of the cast brads from the new Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.
This card was a lot more difficult than it should have been. I was trying to actually stitch the dsp panels together, but my sewing machine was acting up. So, I ended up recutting those panels three times. I am bummed that I could not get the real stitching on there, but I am happy with how the card looks! Thanks for looking!
