I like to scrap things around our home that my granddaughters enjoy. When they grow up, they probably wonÂ’t remember some of these little things on their own, but itÂ’s the little things that are the essence of our lives. IÂ’ve been wanting to use this sketch of SallyÂ’s since the day she posted it and finally got to do it!
Journaling: Every girl needs a cuddlin’ buddy … Mady almost always remembers to bring her “B” when she comes to Grandma & Grandpa’s to spend the night, and she usually brings one of her stuffed animals too. But when she forgets to bring a little animal to sleep with, she asks Grandma for her little doggie buddy who hangs out on the wicker rocking chair in “her” room when she’s not here.
When Mady first met Mr. Doggie, he was bright, white and fluffy. Now heÂ’s a little less white and a little skinnier, but no matter, heÂ’s still quite huggable and thatÂ’s what really counts!
Besides the sketch, (SBSC125) I also covered a number of other challenges from prior weeks:
*Use hoarded embellies (Suzy- SBDD06) & embellies from multiple manufacturers (Erika-SBDD10)
*Create a page with stamped image (Carolyn SBDD10)
*Make your own transparencies (Wendy Rago SBDD11)
*Make diecut-style, stamped embellies, (Iris-SBDD11)
-I created the heart around the puppy photo with my photo-editing program, printed and cut it out ,backed it with white CS, cut around it with scalloping scissors & inked edges with Pretty in Pink.
-Used scallop scissors for the Mar. Morning and White borders behind orchid strip on the left.
-Stamped the Orchid Op. strip with Swirls and Blossoms in white craft ink.
-I stamped and cut out all but one flower (a sticker) and created the middle heart on left strip using the heart from Priceless. The top and bottom hearts are stickers backed with Orchid & PIPink CS. I added the bling to the stamped heart on top of the orchid prima.
-Stamped the top right dp with white dots to match the base CS (I also stamped the base with a MikeÂ’s $1 hearts stamp.).
-Machine-stitched base dp with straight and zigzag stitches.
-Typed the journaling in MS Word, adding butterfly border then printing it on a transparency. I added the small strip of white behind the first words in the journaling to highlight them.

Just coming over from the * other side*... ;) to check on your scrapping pages!! Wendy, this is fabulous!! What great papers and colours!! Really fabulous! all of a sudden you've brought back memories of my * Baby Dear * - an evetually raggedy doll with a soft fabric body and a plastic head!! I still have her - sans hair - I loved her so much - and my grandma made me so many clothes for her and even knit little sweaters and onesis!!! Your grandkids are going to treasure this!
