I didn't think I would get to play for today's Ways To Use It Challenge, use chalk ink. But, I dug through my ink drawer and found a pad of Chalks-a-lots in burgundy that I got from Club Scrap. I have also been wanting to make a criss-cross card and thought I would give it a whirl today!
I used Bravo Burgundy for the main base of the card. For the design paper, I decided to make my own. I used the burgundy chalk ink and stamped some flowers from Burst into Bloom onto white vellum- and boy did I make a BIG mess! I made the band with black cs and decorated it with some burgundy ribbon and a big layered flower. I made the flower with a burgundy and white prima on top of a punched burgundy scalloped circle. It is attached to the band with mini pop dots. For the card insert, I layered whisper white cs on top of basic black. I stamped the sentiment from Fiskar's in the bottom right with the burgundy chalk ink. I stamped the dashed lines and swirl design (both from MFT). On a seperate piece of white cs, I stamped the large flower image from MFT in burgundy chalk ink. I cut it out and put a large antique brass vintage brad in the center. It is adhered with mounting tape.
This was a fun card to make, although the chalk ink is a bit messy! I hope you like my pocket card and thanks so much for checking it out!
