Hi! This card was made for today's Technique Lovers Challenge: Cracked Glass. I love this technique, but have learned, the very hard way, you can't leave the paper in the freezer more than a few minutes. I stamped and colored this scene 6 times using the masking technique and kept popping it in the freezer. But each time, Speedy the Cat would go crazy in there! It was so scary! LOL! Finally, I decided to just do the background in the technique and let Speedy the Cat remain un-cracked! LOL!
(You can find the FULL tutorial for Cracked Glass under RESOURCES.)
The background was stamped and colored in with daubers and re-inkers. It was covered in VersaMark, embossed in clear embossing powder, and repeated 3 more times. Then, it was put in the freezer. It was removed and twisted to "crack the glassy" surface. I used a dauber inked in Chocolate Chip and rubbed it into the cracks.
Next, I stamped the Pumpkin from Innovative Stamp Creations in Basic Brown on Very Vanilla. I used SU! Pure Color Pencils and odorless mineral spirits to blend the colors. Then, I pressed a VersaMark pad onto it and embossed it in Clear.
Speedy the Cat was stamped in BBlack Craft Ink and heat embossed in clear!
(The sentiment was made on my computer...I'm sending this to Markie's teacher who makes fun of how I speak...LOL! (I sound like I was born and raised in South Carolina, however, I'm a Yankee! LOL! shhhhhh don't tell! LOL!)
OMG!!! This is manificent!!!! The colors, the layout, the design, the perfect placement of every element - the great take on the challenge - WOW!!
