I didn't truly appreciate fubsyruth's snowman card found here: One Layer Acetate Window Sparkly Snowmen DTGDjuliehrr by FubsyRuth at Splitcoaststampers until I tried to make my own glittery acetate card. It isn't easy to get the glue where you want it, or the glitter to cooperate. I have glitter everywhere and it takes a long time. But I like the fact it enables you to make a more three dimensional scene and both sides of the window are pretty. And I like glitter and sparkles! The green diamond shaped paper was a random sheet DH bought for me and was wondering when I would use it, so I finally found an occasion.
I stamped the image with black Stazon, turned the acetate over and used the 'dries clear' glue from Art Institute with the tiny applicator tip for better control. Sprinkle the darkest colors first, let each one dry before moving on to the next one. Fubsyruth recommends using your embossing buddy first; I couldn't find mine so I did have some random glitter events. Keep small children away while trying this because if they bump your elbow while you're sprinkling glitter you might get testy.

Wow! What a fun and fabulous card you created! I can tell how much work you put into it. Thanks for sharing it and all the information about how to do it. I can't imagine giving it away after all that! LOL! So the glitter goes on the back side (inside) of the acetate part of the card? No glitter on the front/outside? It's really adorable!

Well I'm impressed!! You were working today on what i was working on yesterday at the store. Very nice!!! Fits your sparkling personality. By the way, do you look like a disco ball with all your stray glitter???

Love the card & the info about making it! So cool! I'm guessing a certain kindergartener decided she wanted to hang with mom during this one thus the comment about small kids! LOL!
