This is for IC84- Christmas in July. Forums at Splitcoaststampers I love the inspiration piece and the colors. It is very formal and I actually made a card to match the formality of it and tossed it. Not my best work. I usually go ahead and post stuff that I am not pleased with but this was toooooooooooo bad to post. This is my second attempt and decided to stick with a subject that I love to play with and snowmen are among my favorite. I took the colors from the inspiration piece to carry over to my grouping. The trees are all stamped with black stazon and are all watercolored in celery, although I almost totally covered them up with snow. Ack!! I took some gray stazon and added some little shadowy trees in the back of the main line to appear as if they are going back in the forest to create the look of distance. Of course, this is all lost in the darn snowfall. When will I ever learn??? The snowmen are watercolored with banana and wasabi. These two colors are wonderful together. I worked to keep the wasabi very light on the clothes as it can really get too dark real fast. I sponged white craft ink on the ground area and embossed with white ep. I sponged banana on the sky to pull everything together. I used Petal Pushers seed stamp to do the snow. I love these soft colors together and love the non traditional Christmas card. It would not have been complete without the darling green gingham. I love gingham!!!!! oh......a little hint. I find that the wasabi stamps pretty darl. I wanted the snow falling loook on the green wasabi bg but didn't want it to over shadow with too dark a green. I used celery to stamp the bg on the wasabi and it is so nice and soft.....there but now overpowering.

Oh Kittie, this is so darling with the little snowmen huddling in front of the trees! Wonderful choice of colours - love the snow and gingham.

Fantastic! So much depth in your scenery - as usual. I love the idea of the tree forest covered with snow and the snowmen in greens I never would have thought of! I can understand this being a favorite - at least til the next wonderful card, right? :-)
