Things I kept the same were the basic layout, a striped paper layer on the bottom, ribbon, brads, and a cat image as the main image.
The main thing I changed was the colors. I had to make some of my own designer paper, which I made by stamping ‘fireworks’ and stars. I reversed the colors for the layer behind the main image. Instead of flower embellishments, I used stars, and put them on circles so they would show up better. I put the sentiment on a layer of its own so that it would not get lost in the patterned paper. I also didn’t sew the layers, although I planned to. The card looked busy enough without adding another element. (Plus, going into my sewing room can be dangerous, since I might get distracted by a quilting project.)
I used some non-SU red paper, since I cannot get my star punch to go through SU paper. The cheapie cardstock is thinner and easier to punch.
This Fluffles is from an acrylic set of stamps and he comes with all sorts of accessories. In the back of my mind, I wanted to make a card with Fluffles leading a 4th of July parade, and this challenge inspired me to do it.

Alice, this is SO adorable! Love the stripes and the fireworks, and how the star overhangs the main image...so many interesting things to look at. Great card!
