I make custom cards for a friend of mine from time to time. She recently asked me to make her a card for someone who just got a new home. She asked for a brick building with a Sheltie in the window and a Vespa parked outside.
I really didn't think I could do it, but thanks to some IRAKs and a Vespa stamp from my LSS, I think I came pretty close. If you look closely, there is a dog (my apologies to all Sheltie owners) in the window). The Vespa stamp (Nadia by A Muse) was too big, so I scanned it in, shrank it, printed it off, cut it out, coloured it and put Crystal Effects on the yellow parts. It looks pretty sharp if I do say so myself! The "New Home" is printed on the computer using SU's Harry Paul font, and written over with my glaze pen.
Now on to the next custom card she asked for. These are fun! It's almost like an Extreme Stamping Challenge or something.
ETA: The hand-drawn dog doesn't show up very well (if at all) in the scan. It's in the really rust house, bottom window, just the head. And it really doesn't look very much like a dog. I just did it pencil and it shows up a bit more in real life. I didn't want it to be the focal point of the card, but I thought I could get away with it given the whimsical style of the stamp.

I love it. I especially love the congrats at the top, kind of hiding out. I seem to always think the greeting needs to be big and in the center. Thanks for helping me think differently.
