For this challenge, I wanted to use faux suede for the leather component, so I made suede flowers. I wish you could see them better in the photo, but they're easy to make and beautiful in person. To make them: Using your bone folder, run the cardstock between your thumb and the folder, like you would to curl ribbon. Do this a few times until the CS starts to curl, then turn over and do it to curl it in the opposite direction. In a short time, you will see the CS begin to separate into 2 layers at the edges. I place the CS into my flower punch at this point BEFORE separating, but you can do it after separating too, and then layer pieces back together to put into your punch. Try it both ways and see which way works best for you. When you peel the layers apart, it will leave the paper rough on the inside, which looks like suede. That's it! I ink the edges a little to add dimension, then layer and attach with a mini brad for the center. (Note: this only works on dyed CS. It won't work on the white or vanilla.)
