This is another card for the Technique Lovers' Challenge, TLC108, to use only shades of brown and vanilla, no other colors, and no images of coffee or chocolate.
Mr. Brown delivered a box of stampin' goodies to me this evening and this idea popped into my head. What's more perfect for a brown challenge than Mr. Brown!
I stamped the little truck from LOL in craft Close to Cocoa and clear embossed, then enhanced it to look like a big UPS truck. I watercolored it with several shades of brown. The window is painted with CE to make it look like glass. I stamped, clear-embossed, watercolored and cut out the little doggies and the doghouse. I used Creamy Caramel and More Mustard on the dogs- I hope that qualifies as brown shades. They are my golden retrievers, so I had to make them somewhat golden!
The boulders in the lower righthand corner are covered with snow. I couldn't find my rock stamp, so I used a gumdrop from All Wrapped Up Accessories. Do they look like rocks? I sketched in the road with markers and a watercolor brush, and made lots of snow (like we have here in NY!) with Liquid Applique. The snow is several days old, so I sponged it with browns to make it look old.
The trees are stamped in the background, and some light brown sponged into the sky. The truck, dogs and doghouse are popped up on Dimensionals. The sentiment (bow wow ruff arff) is stamped in Staz-On Timber Brown on narrow twill tape. It is my dogs' welcoming greeting to Mr. Brown!
What fun I had making this card! Thanks for looking!
