My friend needed a card to hold a gift card. This is what we came up with. It is suppose to be a diaper bag. The stitching really made it come alive.
This was an EPIC card it took 5 hours to make.
I can not believe how an idea right from scratch can kill a day. We believe it is a keeper card so that is why we invested so much time into it.
When I made a second one for my show off shelf it did not take as long.
Ok I do not have a template but here are written instructions.
Thanks for your kind comments on my diaper bag card.
I really do not have a template but have written the instructions out.
The stitching is done with a white gel pen.
Body of card normal 51/2 x 41/4.
Use large corner rounder to round corners.
Punch out 3 “pockets” with large tag punch.
and then 3 WW to stamp on with sm tag punch.
Clasp is 4 1/2 x 3. score at 1”. You will put the 1" on the back side and fold the clasp over. Round with corner rounder.
Green insert 5 1/4 x 4. round with corner rounder.
White insert 33/4 x 31/2 round with corner rounder.
Strap ½ x 11
Attach the strap to the back of the card on either side of the clasp. We even stitched the strap on with the gel pen. you know like a reinforced look. a square with an x in it.
i hope this helps anyone who wants to make this card.
I did not going into the stamping because you can do as you wish with the card.

Totally adorable--I know what you mean about one idea killing a day. But, now you'll always have a unique baby gift, and as you say, they won't take so long in the future. TFS! This is going into my faves.

WOW! What a fabulous and unique idea! Good for you! I love it, it is a gift in itself. I'll bet that stitching took forever! Is it faux or did you really stitch it? Either way it looks great. TFS
