This bargello pattern was done to perfection by JulieHRR for May's DD gallery "Playing with Pattern:" Gallery at Splitcoaststampers I just had to make one for this gallery when I saw the theme was "Made From Scrap." This is a great project for using scraps of coordinated designer papers.
My variation is also a mosaic, using detail copper EP for the "grout." This was done by using sticker paper as my base and a 1/16th strip of cardstock as my spacer. The copper EP sticks in the spaces after the bargello strips are all laid down.
This Enchante designer paper is so pretty but also very subtle, and it seemed to need something after the design was completed. Since I didn't want to cover up the pattern too much, I settled on this acetate overlay just using the scroll stamp from Carte Postale with copper EP.
The mosaic part of this project changed the measurements a little, so this card ended up being 5 1/4 by 7 inches.

Finally getting here -- I've glanced at this before but don't think I've commented -- this card is BREATHTAKING!!! The patience to lay down all those tiny pieces -- oh my -- and so perfectly spaced and grouted with copper -- this is AMAZING!!! And that Carte Postale scroll -- WOW -- I still can't see the overlay -- I thought you cut it out -- it just floats on the surface -- this card is beyond BEAUTIFUL!!! TFS!!!

this is sooo stunning! did you practice a lot on the grout first? it is perfect. I love to quilt and this one would be on my wall after it was completed. Totally worthy of a frame! I made one when I first started too. check it out but not nearly as awesome as this one...you rock chick, you rock! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Oh Linda.......your card is absolutely stunning! I can't image how time consuming it must have been, but the results were worth it. Wow, should be kept and framed. Just amazing....TFS
