I'm in such a mood to do fall things. Fall is a season we don't get in Florida and I miss it. I invisioned trees with brightly colored leaves and a field of pumpkins and an old, rusty, beatup truck going out to harvest them. Here's what I came up with. I just love the little truck!!!
I sketched the trees with an artist pen. I used an artist pen directly on the stamp to get a single pumpkin to lay around the field. I used my scruffy brush to lay down the old olive green for the field, and close to cocoa for the road. I sketched in little sprigs of grass around the pumpkins and trees and then watercolored them with a small liner brush. I decided to try my hand at filling in the rest of the ground with the liner brush to create the uneven grass of a filed that can't be mowed due to the pumpkin crop. After coloring the the truck I scruffed it up the truck a little with my artist pen and added More Mustard to the dents and borders to make it look rusty. I don;t use much embellishment lately but decided a little hardware from the hodge podge kit would look cute fastened to the tailgate of the truck with the Loads of Love sentiment. I made this especially to send to my MIL in a few weeks when falls comes to south Jersey where she lives.
I've had lots of people write and ask me about my waterproof artist pens. I'm including a link to Dick Blick when I purchased mine so you can see them. I have the set of four black.

What a beautiful card. It certainly makes me ready for our Michigan falls! I love the use of the hodge podge hardware... makes me really think I NEED it now.

I am in the mood for fall too. I think it is because school started a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, this card is beautiful! I absolutely love the way you colored the truck. It is very authentic looking. TFS
