I would like to say that S/U should hire the D/D girls to make the cards for their next catalog!! Seriously!! I just couldn't get excited about ANY of the cards to CASE (at least the ones I have the stamps for)... that's why I came back with a third one. MOST of the cards in the catty are just TOO blah, and plain!
This card I CASEd is on page 124 of the new catty.
I didn't have the spritzer tool that I'm sure they used on their card, so I used IBB. The bookplate is from Making Memories.... it seems to be a bit smaller than the S/U one. My ribbon is fatter too... which gives the card a different look. I didn't have the diamond stamp they used.... I made a diamond out of some scrap rubbah.

Seems SU made every effort to focus on paper and stamps only. Their sketches are very unique but there is very little in the way of finishing/artistic touches for sure! Like the job you did on this and the colors are great--love the *homemade* stamp too!

I agree with your description of the catty cards....great layouts, but no finishing details....that's why I had a hard time finding ones I wanted to only change the color of.....you, on the other hand, have the cinderella touch....you've taken cards in the catty that really didn't catch my attention and made them into marvelous creations....thanks for your cool eyes and creative spirit....you saw what I could not....great creations today and always
Joan, I couldn't agree with you more about the catalog. I had a very hard time finding one that I wanted to recreate. I think SU makes most of their cards simpler so that they can be easily cased by new stampers who are just starting out. I find SCS's has way more interesting and wonderful cards to case should the need arise.
Your card is lovely. Funny that we both chose the same example. I love your colors. It is funny how just changing the colors makes a completely different card.

Yep, think most of us agree - was very hard not to add the "finishing" touches to SU's catty cards. Guess they wanted us to focus on the stamps and not the card. You did an awesome job here!

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
