I'm trying to come up with some unique gifts to sell at a craft fair and you ladies always have such good advice. So, I have these stamped candles with a matching box and tissue paper. What else should be included with this gift box set? Stamped candy, gift tag? I really need some help with this, I want to sell these.....thanks for any ideas!

These look great - I think they'll sell really well. I like the tag idea, so it's a gift ready to give, and the matchbox is a cute idea too. Make sure your name and contact details are on it somewhere, people who receive these might want more!

Love it! Adding a coordinating match box is a perfect idea! I was perusing a trendy upscale clothing boutique this past weekend in Newport Beach and they had on their counter the large match boxes covered in cute paper and they were selling for $20.00 a box. Unbelievable!

Lauren - I was contemplating asking $7 - $8 for the candle, box, tissue paper, gift tag, and matchbox! Haven't decided if I want to throw in some matching candy (Hershey Nuggets)or not! I've always sold the candles alone for $5 - so I thought the $7 range was pretty reasonable!

Now as far as the technique - it is basically just stamping on your pre-cut tissue paper, sticking it to your candle with some glue stick glue. Take your wax paper (cut about 1/8" longer and wider than the tissue paper to ensure good melting coverage), stick it on top of the tissue paper with some more of the glue from your glue stick. Use your embossing gun to melt the wax paper to the tissue paper and to the candle. Peel off wax paper and smooth any rough spots along the top and bottom of the candle where the wax gathered with a sanding block to get a smooth "seamless" finish. OH YES, don't forget to include somewhere on your candle a disclaimer of some sort. I have had several people tell me that the tissue paper WILL catch on fire! So make sure they aren't burned unattended. My sister sold one to a co-worker and that person came back and informed my sister her candle caught on fire and almost burned her house down! Since they both work for an insurance company, my sister thought to inform me of this and told me to add a disclaimer to my candle. So I print out a "Warning" label on the same labels you use for the candy wrappers and stuck it to the bottom of the candle, out of sight, but it is there!
