We've all done it..bought that big beautiful die that covers the entire front of a card. And after you use it once you think...now what? Well, you go visit the Gallery of this week's Featured Stamper. Kathy (aka Carolinakitty) has tons of inspiration with beautiful dies of all sizes and I found this one: F4A588 Red, White, & Blue by Carolinakathy at Splitcoaststampers
I kept Kathy's dark bg; a large white floral die; pops of red; and a butterfly...or butterflies in my case. I loved her red, white and navy blue colors, but switched out her navy for black. I also cut the die out in red to add back in back the flower centers. I cut the three little butterflies from the red die cut and glued them slightly off center from the white to make them pop a bit more. And, I added a sentiment.
I love the bold look she created and I am very happy that my not-much-used floral die looks so good against the black. I can see doing this again with many different color combos.
So, Kathy -- Congratulations on being selected this week's Featured Stamper and thank you for giving new life to my unused stash. I hope you enjoy your week in the spotlight and all the cards you have inspired. And I hope everyone is having a good week and finding new uses for old things (like my husband..I think he should reinvent himself...maybe as a masseur...ooh wouldn't that be dreamy...LOL) TFL

I had to laugh at your husband comment - I wish mine would reinvent into a masseur for sure.
This card came out wonderfully, Debbie. I love your red touches and the white against the black. It is fun to see how others use our neglected items and then we can love them all over again.
Lovely case! Hugz

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post about your pretty card-size die ... how wonderful that you've been inspired to use it in new and wonderful ways! Got a chuckle when I read your comment about your dh! LOL

Debbie, this is a great case of Kathy's card. I love that beautiful floral die cut in white and that you added touches of colors with the red flower centers and butterflies.
