I finally tried Texture paste for the first time 2 weeks ago so had to give this double embossing a try. Today I used some Texture paste that I made myself. I secured my Waverly stencil to some black metallic cardstock and smoothed my homemade paste over the top. After removing the stencil, I sprinkled on Gold, Red & Green Tinseled embossing powders. I never really liked these heavily glittered powders after I bought them BUT I think they will get a LOT more use with this technique. When I heat set the embossing powder, it did give a slightly puffed appearance to my stenciling which made me think of fine Persian tapestries. I really like both the look and the texture from this technique!
Homemade Texture Paste
1 Cup Cornstarch
1/2 cup White Glue
1/4 cup White Acrylic craft Paint.
Mix together to form a super smooth paste - store in an airtight container.

This is an awesome look! the glittered EP must be really interesting IRL. They are quite interesting, even without the paste under them. The stencil does look like a tapestry pattern and you colors really emphasize that look!
