I tried the wet-on-wet twice with disastrous results and the glazing once which went badly. In all three of these the greatest problem was the bleeding of the stamping (black Altenew dye ink).
Switched to VersaFine black on the stamp and had no bleeding problem. Used the glazing method. Masked the flower and leaves, sprayed the inks still on my palette and finished with a wrinkle free background.
Die cut the watercolor paper, and orange mat. Added 3 crystals and sentiment.
Pretty happy with my 1st watercolor flower & background!

You should be happy, Priscilla. Wonderful watercoloring and made a beautiful flower. I like your wrinkle free background, also...a fave technique of mine.

sometimes its fun to stamp it in a distress ink ( to pull that color away and see what it does) but, for something you want the lines versafine is my go to too love how the colors pop here

I too am happy you kept going Priscilla. You have done a wonderful job with your flower and your background. Such pretty colours. For stamping when I watercolour I only use VersaFine Clair Ink. It is such beautiful ink to use and perfect for watercolour. There are tons of colours as well, I have been collecting those until I fill the set.
