This year I'm continuing my Travel the World card series that I began last year. There are 195 countries in the world. I randomly select one each week and virtually travel there. I share tidbits of information about the week's country on my blog and choose one fact about the country as inspiration for that week's card.
This card is inspired by Solomon Islands, where some of the earliest and most regular foreign visitors to the islands were whaling vessels from Britain, the United States and Australia. They came for food, wood and water late in the 18th century and, later, took aboard islanders to serve as crewmen on their ships.
Please visit my blog for more photos/information about both Solomon Islands and my card...

Oh, Jeanette, this is such fun card. I just visiting your blog and loved reading about the Solomon Islands. I was fascinated that while English is the official language, only 1-2% of the people are able to speak it fluently! I love learning about different places and look forward to visiting your blog more!
