It's Monday and time for another TLC! And Jean is our hostess, challenging us to join her in stretching our creative muscles! DID it ever. But I loved it anyway...even not perfect...
We are making tunnel cards. There are links to several styles. And I did take advantage of those links, multiple times. I am not a precision kind of girl, so I did make a plain template of the process, wrote down dimensions, and ordered my steps! But as I was constructing, I thought...why don't I just create as I go...so truth be told...mine does not lie perfectly flat, like Jennifers'. I am OKAY with that. IT is good enough, in fact...I kind of like the wonkiness.
When I saw the shapes that were used for the tunnel, I veered. I thought it might be fun to use something different. Well, howdy...I didn't realize these Memory Box 'Stylish Frame Trio, dies would be wonky as they cut the 'Stylish Frames'. So now I had the two tunnel cuts off center! But I thought, I can go with that...I had already planned to cut the eye from the square, eyes are not always centered in a face...I also used a contrasting color for my middle layer. That led to embossing the frames in the mixed media metallic EP's and also the rose powder.
The eye was watercolored with blue and the lid several shades of purple. I added glossy accents over the eye. I decided to add more dimension with the Artist State of Mind artcon stamp (3 layers).
The first layer of the tunnel was stenciled with the Tim Holtz 'Eye Chart' with TH Distress Oxide 'Pumice Stone'.
That's it! Fun and wonky...I loved it, Jean. Thank you for encouraging us to rise up from our comfort zones and create something different...keep bringing it, mdf! And to all, can't wait to see how you were inspired today....thanks for stopping by...
