I made this card for this week's "A Little Birdie Told Me" Teapot Challenge. Pat is our hostess this week and she asked us to make cards with birds on them for Jean Kanack's dear friend, Kristine, who has been having a challenging time of things for awhile now and who could use some cheer.
I have had this Stampendous stamp set for about 4 years now and it has never seen ink before so now was the time. This card involved a lot of masking which is something I love to do. I have never colored a bird before and I think if I do one again, I will use colored pencils for the added texture they provide.
I wish Jean's friend all the best and I hope that things can improve for her. In the meantime, I hope this blue bird of happiness brings a little cheer to her. Thank you for the wonderful challenge Pat and thank you for looking today! ~Karen.

Karen this will certainly be a day brightener! The colors are so cheery....you did a great job on the bird! This makes me think about Spring right around the corner...although it's going to be a really warm weekend in MN coming up...can't wait. Hope you're doing well...happy to see your card today

What wonderful colouring and shading, especially on those beautiful flowers. Great stamp, that bluebird is super, and you did a great job with the cloudy sky.

Karen, this is absolutely delightful and gorgeous color scheme. Love the sponged clouds in the background. This bird looks so real, like it is perched right outside one's window singing a happy tune!
