I am delighted to be part of the Color Challenge Design Team this month as a guest artist. I am looking forward to having some inky fun and seeing all the great projects everyone loads to the gallery.
Today we are challenged to create a masculine or ocean themed project with a wonderful combination of Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist. I decided to use my new Sea of Textures stamp set and dies, which I bought before the bundle disappeared! These colors are perfect for it! I started by creating a background on some watercolor CS by applying all three colors of ink and spritzing with some water. I used a paper towel to lift some of the ink and create a bit of texture. I stamped some seaweed at the bottom.
I used a scrap white piece to stamp my octopus using all three colors of ink. I die cut that out as well as the net, Sea grass, seaweed and small fish. I sponged on color where needed and used a crimper to add texture to the grass. I assembled my scene and added some sea life wood elements and an embossed greeting.

Oh! Oh, my goodness, Kathy, what an amazing undersea scene you created. Such artistic use of the colors, both on the background (love it!) and on the octopus. Love all the different elements and the dimension and texture you created. So glad you'll be with us on the CC team this month!

Oh your sponging on this card is absolutely fabulous. It has made such a beautiful underwater scene. Almost as if you see glimpses of the sunshine drifing through the blue water. Love everything about this card
