I was looking for ideas for my husbandâs birthday card on Craftsuprint and I found this âVintage Carâ. In the section for the community to post cards they made using the car, I found the tunnel card. I contacted the designer and asked her how she made the pop out portion with all the different pieces of DSP. She used a program called âColor Pickerâ to add the different layers. I donât have âColor Pickerâ, so this is how I made the center.
I cut the tunnel portion of the card 10 5/8â x 5 7/8â using âVanilla Cardstockâ (do not fold). Cut strips of Dark Brown cardstock 1/8â wide. Glue them 1/8â in from the edge of the âVery Vanilla Cardstockâ so you have a 1/8â border.
Cut your 1st piece of DSP 10 1/8â x 5 5/16â. Adhere to card base so you have 1/8â Brown border strip around the edge. Cut the 2nd piece of DSP 8 ½â x 4 7/16â. Center it over the first piece of DSP. Add the 1/8â border strip round the edge.
For the Window, cut âDark Brownâ Cardstock 4 ¼â x 3 ¾â. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla to layer â3 ½â x 3 ½â and center over the brown. Mark 1/8â from the inside edge of and cut out for the window. Adhere to center of the card. Now, print the inside section on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Use the printed copy for the inside of the tunnel card.
Cut Dark Brown cardstock 10 5/8â x 5 7/8â for the card front. Fold in ½. Add car to center. Glue the 2 pieces together and decorate.
