This is for Janelle's fun mixed media challenge - Royal Garden.
This is a full A4 sheet of copy paper and it will go straight into my journal along with the names of the coloured pencils used.
I only used 5 coloured pencils here, one brown, one green and 3 shades of red. I didn't use any blending solutions, just a Prisma blending pencil, to move and blend the colours a bit.
I have been tinkering away at this for ages, but when I saw it was the 300th Mixed Media challenge, I was motivated to finish it and make it mixed media and a garden head dress fit for royalty.
I added highlights of red and green using Copic pens and some walnut stain distress ink in her hair and on her shoulder. I then added a few liquid pearls spots.
At this point I took a photograph, because I wasn't sure if the next step would work, at least I would have a photo LOL.
I used my peeled paint Gellato crayon and ever so lightly added some colour to the background. It didn't look right so I very, very gently wiped the gellato with a baby wipe (I quickly blasted the baby wipe with my heat gun to get some moisture out of it, before wiping the paper).
Normally this step would be perfectly ok, actually it is the best way to move gellato 's around on your project, but this is just copy paper and won't take too much moisture.
Thankfully the paper didn't warp too much, I gave it a burst of heat with the heat gun, then sat it under some heavy books for 15 minutes, it's good as gold now.
Thanks so much for looking. I hope you have a happy, inky week.
Edit: I forgot I used 3 different coloured pencils on her face.

Amazing to think that's only 5 pencils - and some magical blending. I'm glad the Gelato blending went well on your copy paper - I agree, baby wipes are wonderful with them. She's a really fantastic garden fairy.

We were thinking somewhat the same for this gardening thing. Your Royal Highness is quite lovely and her headdress is definitely fit for a queen. Beautifully colored - especially love the flowers!

Wow - this is some seriously cool hair (and colors). You always do the coolest stuff. I know this took some time and it was totally worth it. I so wish I could come watch you create something like this! Hugz

OMGosh! This is soooo gorgeous! Your coloring of her eye, your coloring of the flowers...phenomenal, spectacular, sensational, perfection and if I could think of more words at the moment I would say those too! This is so gorgeous Susie!
