Have you seen this joke floating around Facebook? The inside says "How long can we freeze before we have to turn on the heat for the first time.
I've seen it quite a few times and I couldn't resist using it for Lisa's Teapot challenge to make a humorous card. I hope that our recipien, Leann, in Minnesota can relate. I bet she can. I've combined this with the color challenge because I decided that I wanted to hav a cardinal on my card today. I seem to always color this funny bird as a cardinal, so he was the fperfect choice to be freezing in his house without the heat on. I chose some green DP as the background and some light yellow cardstock as the middle layer. I lightly stamped some leaves on the yellow for the fall theme and then I got in my dessert with a Time Holtz stencil on the main panel. The stencil was a little dirty so my Scattered Straw came out a little greenish.

Hahaha! This is such a fun and cute card! Love the simple layered layout to allow that great colored bird to shine through the sun rays. Hope he at least gets their warmth!

I love this wonderful image of this bird trying to keep warm with his scarf wrapped around him. Yes, this is very much a tradition in MN so Leann will love this A LOT! Ha! ~Karen.

Ha! I am in Minnesota and there is this strange brightness to the sky today - something we haven't seen in a long, long time. We're still holding off the heat but I think that is because we are in a high rise condo. Genius card!
