This is a box of coasters I made as a gift. I started with an empty nut canister, cut to accommodate the coasters I made. The top and bottom are several layers of cereal/cracker box chipboard glued together, then covered with DP. I use tacky glue and then set them under heavy books (or my cuttlebug and plates) to ensure they will be flat when the glue is dry.
I put a piece of dowel inside the bead hole and then stamped some writing on the bead, so it matched the paper.
Although I didn't strictly follow it, there is a tutorial showing how to make a similar box from a tape roll here.
I also made a box to match to put this in, but didn't take a picture.

Melody, this is BEAUTIFUL! Love your crocheted coasters! My Mom, her sisters, and my Grandma were beautiful crocheters! My sister and I could never get the hand of it...one needles...I'm all thumbs!
Your cannister for them is delightful. Love the ink distressing, the script and its little knob...looks so cute! What a lovely gift to receive!
