Couldn't manage to get my card finished before I had to start work today. But I worked from home and was hoping to get finished on my lunch break. Didn't happen, so I'm just finishing it now while I'm waiting for a macro to run. I've combined Pam's lovely fall colors with Sandy's fun challenge. No dessert for me today. I haven't been stamping for very long--only about three years, so I had to go back to my scrapbooking days for old tools. I started the card off with what I think must be my oldest stamp (although it's new to me). It says 1998 on it. I colored it with markers and then decided it needed more, so I finished it off with colored pencils. I've used SC74 for the sketch even thought this large stamp resulted in too big a panel for the front of the card. It was sort of a fancy fold and I dug through my oldest DP from my scrapbooking days about fifteen years ago and used some of that. It doesn't show in the picture, but on that back piece, I used a pair of fancy border scissors to cut the red strip. Then I finished off the card with another old tool from scrapbooking--alphabet letters! They totally don't "go" with this card, but I couldn't resist. LOL!

Oh my, Jen - you have coloured that rose amazingly. It looks like a Redoute drawing. I can see your decorative scissor edges. I've actually been using my deckle ones quite a bit recently so there was no dust on them. Your old DP (I'm sure we ALL have that) is a great match with the romantic rose.

Beautiful card Jennifer! I love your gorgeously colored big flower, and the way your card opens - beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! hugs, Maura

Jen, your coloring of the roses with the deep color contrast makes them just pop off the page. Gorgeous flowers and wonderful use of the gatefold card design!

Your roses are beautifully colored, Jenn. And you've completely caught the spirit of the challenge -- your scrapbooking supplies are what you would have been using, had you been making cards back then. I can just see the strip of paper cut with decorative scissors, too.

Great combination of elements, Jenn! I got tickled at your comments on some of our antiques! This is so well done and makes a beautiful card, even with your antiques!
