It's my pleasure to be your hostess in the Color Challenge this week. I've chosen some fall colors, although I am definitely not ready to say farewell to summer; the Seattle rains will come soon enough!
The colors this week are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow, with the dessert option of Early Autumn. I used Bristol paper to heat emboss my three leaves, then sponged the Distress Oxide colors on them, blending two of the colors on each leaf. I fussy cut them out and arranged them on a piece of DS paper with a white wood pattern, stamped the sentiment and some splatters, added a few Nuvo drops, and attached to a Cajun Craze base.
This card is a sort-of sympathy card for (follow along now) my daughter's mother-in-law, whose grandson recently died in a tragic car accident. I've already expressed my condolences, but since she's been on my mind, I decided to send another card.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

One of my all time Favorite stamp sets. Beautiful subtle shades of your bright sunny colors today, Barbara, and perfect for the untimely occasion. A grandmother should not outlive her grandchild.

It is unimaginable to outlive a child, this beautiful autumn card will no doubt ease her aching heart. The nuvo drops are a great accent to the pretty leaves and paper.

Beautiful card for such a sad occasion. I loved your colors this month but I agree I'm not ready to embrace fall just yet even though the leaves are starting to turn. I noticed that this morning. Great colors this week, pretty card.
