A friend got me some Printworks stamps before they closed the shop, so I used the poinsettia image. First, I decided to use one of the smaller Grand Scallop dies and carefully gilded the edges with my Krylon pen (making sure to prime the pen well). I set the base aside and did some pre-planning before I decided my final layout using my MISTI (allowing space for my sentiment at the end). I cut a mask and stamped the first poinsettia and then masked it and stamped another. The other two poinsettias are in the upper corners. (True Confession: I stamped my card the first time and started coloring one of the petals green. So back to the MISTI. Ha!) I used a rectangle die to cut down my focal image and had to trim a bit more. I finished coloring everything and then used my Mini MISTI to add the sentiment. Then I very carefully used my Krylon pen. I allowed it to dry completely before I adhered it to the scalloped base. Voila! It was done!
Thanks, Anne, for a great challenge this week. I love the website and could easily have done some serious shopping there.
And of course, Stacy (Twinshappy) has a new Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge for July, and I hope you can join us! It's been great fun to make more cards throughout the year so I don't get all flustered this fall. I want to enjoy the holidays.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my card! Wishing you all a wonderful week and a happy July! Hugs, all! xoxo

What a remarkable job you did coloring and masking these wonderful pointsettias and I love how you arranged them off the edges to frame this pretty Christmas sentiment!

Oh, Cheryl, you have outdone yourself again! Your take on the inspiration piece is perfection. Your poinsettias are colored beautifully and the gold trimming put it over the top. It is such a blessing to be able to visit your gallery.

Such rich and lovely coloring Cheryl, your card is absolutely gorgeous! As others have noted, the gold rim you created around both the colored panel and die cut scallops is absolutely exquisite. A stunning card!

Just a beauty, Cheryl. The reds are so yummy. I love how you used the krylon pen to put the gold elegance on your card. This is a 10+ card, for sure. Someone will be very fortunate to receive this card at Christmas.

Some days I just want to pinch you out of total jealousy for how steady your hand is...that edging??? Come On!!! Around a scalloped border too??
And bc you can get a krylon pen to behave. I cant. I use metallic sharpies.
As always your layout is perfect to the 16th of an inch....the great coloring is no surprise. Gorgeous as always! Hugs!
