This card is not my usual style but I love this pattern paper by Fun Stampers Journey and thought it would be too bold with a full quarter sheet. I saw a card on Pinterest by Marybeth Lopez and decided that the white would tone down the tartan. I'm not usually a focal flower kinda card maker but I liked the look of Marybeth's card and gave it a go! The sentiment is tripled and glued together. I did get a pop of purple in there to remind us of Celtic heather and thistle.

What a gorgeous card this is! The layout is fantastic with this wonderful plaid you used and the angled white panel. I am so glad you forged ahead and made a flower focal because it looks terrific on this card design. This is going straight into my favs! ~Karen.

Really pretty card. Great design, although I don't think it's possible to have too much plaid. Love that you stuck in some purple in there. And happy birthday to you, my friend!

I was working on my card last night and coincidentally it looks very similar to yours. Imagine my surprise when I popped in to check out the gallery. Great minds think alike!!

I don't think it would have been too bold, but I think it's a case of less is more and contrasting it with the white gives it much more impact than it would have had as a full front. Such a pretty floral spray, too - with a definite thistle/heather purple hint.
