Lisa is this week's WTUI hostess, her fun challenge is Bug's Life. I love these Crafty Secret stamps, they remind me of illustrations from an old children's book.
I used the Vintage Watercolor technique for these cute bugs. I stamped them in Tea Dye, then added additional tones with a waterbrush, brown marker and Distress inks. Sponged ink around the edges of the image panel and pp strips. Layered the papers and added a wood hello and typewriter. I added a strip of newspaper ribbon to the typewriter as the finishing touch. I totally need to try the vintage watercolor technique again. The one time I did it I used regular paper and totally want to try it on watercolor paper to really get the full effect. Love the feel on this card Carla. Thank you so much for playing along this week and creating this amazing sample for the challenge.

Wonderful old children's book look to this well designed card, Carla. The way you used the old book feel of the image and carried it into all the details of the card is terrific. So Creve and pretty.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on one of my scrapbook layouts. I was so surprised to see how many comments I received and how welcome I was made to feel. I will definitely participate in this welcoming community as my life settles down a little.
My goodness what talent it must take to create something like this. The wonderfully distressed look, the wonderful job of colouring in the bugs and the little bits and bobs that make this outstanding!

So I guess we will have to wish to be a person standing in a corner in the newsroom (instead of a fly on the wall)! Cute card! Love the typewriter die cut and this image of the buzz!
