Nothing says 'comfy and cozy' like one of Grandma's homemade quilts like the ones you see on Antiques Roadshow! Not the ones with specially purchased matching material no..I mean the ones made from Men's old overcoats or Grama's old housedresses. In my way of thinking the 'new fabric' does not have what I like to call 'Heart!'..the aura of old fabric. This card has 'Heart' I hope...I have had some of this paper around since I started stamping in 1998!! LOL! The greeting is from Cheery Lynn and the folders I used are from Stampin-up and Cuttlebug. My card is headed out the door to Chatterbox-1 who just had her knee done! Get better soon...

Oh, I so agree. I think the thing about that sort of patchwork is you look at it and you say "oh, this was my birthday dress when I was 5" and "that was Dad's paisley vest". I love the cosy combination of the knitted embossing and the heartfelt patchwork. And the detail of adding stitching lines to each square tells of the care you took.

I'm with you, Sue. I have a quilt in the Dresden Plate pattern made of my grandmother's house dresses, my mother's aprons, and my smocks when I was pregnant. This quilt you made for Carlene has such a nice feel to it..the stitching you added is superb!!

I agree, we have this one old quilt like that from a MIL...years old and made from lots of different scraps..but when it gets cold....it is our FIRST go to..the warmest ever, and I love the look of all the different scraps, each one probably telling a different story....TFs...this cute quilt card...such a great part of the vintage story....do love your colors here too adn the embossing.

Wow, I love the paper piecing for this lovely quilt and that pretty embossing over it all really adds an extra dimension.

Great idea to do a quilt Sue! Yes, an antique quilt is comfy, cozy, and will surround Carlene with good wishes. Your patchwork prints are so pretty and inviting.
