These two cards for the MMTPT497 challenge took me all week to make. Polly gave us a challenge using Van Gogh's paintings. There are so many beautiful cards in the gallery with the starry nights and sunflowers. I have a mental block when it comes to making backgrounds. Decided to try the gilded faux silk technique ,which Melissa gave a wonderful video to follow. Finally did two that were presentable. Using the sunflower digi from power poppy, printed on white cardstock, colored blue card with copic markers-which have been neglected for a long time. Added wink of stella to the petals. The warm orange and yellow card was done with painting with acrylic paints. Really put a thick coat of the folk art- lemon custard paint on the petals. Then shaded it with Cajun craze reinker. Thinking it would look like an oil painting on paper. Added wink of stella. Added gold pen to borders. It really was fun, and will try to do more of the mixed media. TFL

THUD! Linda, even for you, that "thud" is a loud one! These are exquisite and absolutely beyond words! You have outdone even yourself! I am in awe of your talent and how you've tackled mixed media and made two of the most beautiful cards! Wow! I love them both for different reasons, but I am a blue person. So I especially love that one. The gold is beautiful, and where is that sentiment by Eleanor Roosevelt from? It's so lovely and true. Exquisite and amazing! Warm hugs, sweet friend! xoxo
