I decided I could give this Hurricane Lamp a frosty/bubbly texture by covering it with Gel Medium and heating it with my heat tool. I did several layers and it looks very realistic IRL.
When I was done, the leaves that come with it just seemed too small. I looked through my images and the only leaves that seemed to work were the petals on the Giant Poinsettia so I sponged them green and cut them out. Then I put a dollop of glue on them to add texture and brighten the colors up, and then added the glitter. The leaves/petals worked, but then I needed to add my bow (also from the Holly Hurricane image). This is when the adventure started. My SU! Ink pad was corroded. I don't know what else to call it, but the ink was kind of all in one spot with a hard crusty surface. I have had most my SU! Ink pads for about 8-14 years and this one only one that has ever done this. I decided to try it anyway and scrubbed my sponge through it. When I added it to the image, it was so thick my image disappeared completely. I added some gel medium to see what would happen. I wiped off the gel with my finger (I was a bit lazy then) and wiped it off - lots of ink came off. I did this over and over until I achieved the color here and could see my image. This was on Sunday morning and my fingers were an intense red - especially the nails. The color did not want to come off. Usually if I wash dishes, I can get my ink off but not this time. No makeup remover, magic eraser or anything else I tried worked. I still have some red on my finger nails. What is remarkable is that no one at church or work or anywhere else has asked me about it. LOL!
Made the bg with Dylusions Spray - a few squirts and then splashes of water to tone down the intensity and create fun patterns.
I am hoping you are having lots of fun crafting adventures too!

You had quite the adventure creating your fabulous card, Nancy! I love the texture on the hurricane lamp and the leaves and ribbon are perfect. The list of techniques for me to try just keeps growing. Your pretty bg looks like you salted it, beautiful!
