This is for Sabrina's fun Blast Off into Space challenge.
This digi image is by Molly Harrison, her work is amazing and her prices are great. She sells actual adult colouring books and also digital versions.
I coloured Judy Jetson and the entire backgound including moon with Prismacolour pencils and Zest-It pencils blend. I usually sit my copy paper on a few sheet of copy paper or on a nice smooth writing pad. Because I wanted a grainy, motley look for the moon, I sat the image on a rough tooth watercolour pad to colour it.
I then added lots of distress inks to the background by smacking the ink pads onto aluminium foil, because this is just copy paper I did NOT add water. I used a dauber to pick the ink up from the foil, the ink is easier to blend on the paper than by pushing the dauber into the ink pad. It is also a good way to mix some of the colours together.
Next step was to add lots of stickles....big mistake, this look terrible. Distress inks wasn't doing the trick so I gathered up few northern-lights type colour Copics.
I have mentioned before that it is probably best to clean the nibs of Copics when using them over pencils.
I can now tell you that it is best NOT to use Copics over the top of pencils that are covered with Zest -It blend, distress inks and millions of Stickles spots. I'm thinking that I probably should have checked that all the Stickles were dry.
This took longer to photograph than it did to make, Stickles sure are hard to photograph. Thank you for looking, I hope you are having a happy inky week.

Susie, I look at this gorgeous creation and I am gobsmacked (in the best possible way). Then I read your adventure in making this glorious card, and I just fall in love with your fun sense of humor and total lack of pretense. Then I look at your artwork, and I am in complete awe of all the techniques you use. The fact that his is done with colored pencils is beyond my comprehension. Nothing I have done with colored pencils comes even close to this glorious masterpiece my friend. Then you warn us about not using copic markers over colored pencils (good to know). Then you mention how it took longer to photograph this than make it. Wow! Although, I do understand how hard it is to capture stickles on camera. Susie, I bow to you. You are so fun and so inspiring and your creations blow me away. Just by doing what you do best, you continue to inspire me to push myself harder and reach for more so thank you for that my friend! ~Karen.

Oh, sis! I read your descriptions in the emails from my subscription to your gallery. So I was thinking...hmm, this should be interesting. But POW! What a shocker and an absolutely GORGEOUS card (or perhaps this needs to go in your journal). I also giggled when I read about your Copic markers, Zest-It, colored pencils...hehe! If you ever come to visit and want to color with me...bring your OWN markers! ROTFL! You are so funny and also so amazingly talented, and I LOVE you to pieces from here to the moon and throughout the galaxy! You just made my night, and now I can sleep with a smile on my face seeing this one, sweetest sis in the whole galaxy!!! Squishy hugs! xoxo

Well now Susie....
This rocks. That is all.
I have not mastered skin AT ALL. But you have! The delicate highlights are really excellent. along the jawline, the nape of the neck, the collarbone...sigh, I remember when I had a collarbone...lol
The decorative piece on her head..just fantastic. The rough on the moon worked.
I am loving watching you spread your wings. You keep soaring higher!
