I made this card for this week's featured stamper who is Jeanette (Forest Ranger). I have been a big fan of Jeanette's for some time now so it was a real pleasure going through her gorgeous gallery. This card on the first page of her gallery grabbed my attention immediately because I love daisies and because it was done on Kraft cs. I kept looking through her gallery, but I simply had to come back to this gorgeous card: Faith in You by Forest Ranger at Splitcoaststampers. I changed the colors and I changed the layout, but I kept the Kraft cardstock and the flower theme. I absolutely love the story that Jeanette shares with this card she made. It got me to thinking how special my friends are to me and how they have seen me through cancer and are now helping me to deal with my aging parents who are rapidly failing. There are no words to describe how important my friends are (and this includes my scs friends!) to me. Reading the story that goes with Jeanette's card made me a little teary, but it almost made me smile and it is a story that I will always remember. It took me a bit to figure out how to do the stamp layering on kraft cs because it simply does not show up. Then I remembered an old technique I used to do where I painted white kraft ink first onto the cs before stamping. So, I took the base layer of each stamp and inked it in white craft ink first, dried it with a heat gun, inked it in white craft ink again, dried it again, then stamped the flowers and leaves in the colors I intended for each layer. The white ink partially sits on top of the Kraft cardstock, so then that allows the colors to show up better. This card involved a lot of stamping and a lot of masking, but it was a lot of fun to make too. This sentiment from Penny Black says it all for me and I simply had to use it. If I had to make this card again, I think I would heat emboss the sentiement in white. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Karen, your diligence in stamping the white pigment ink base numerous times certainly paid off because the colors are so vibrant and lovely! Beautifully done with a great design framing that touching sentiment.
