WooHoo it's Tickle a Teapotter time and Sandy has given us a terrific tale of Katie and her cousin Carrie. Carrie was all for 'glamping' with all the bells and whistles for the Millennials, while Katie wanted to get back to the basics.
Katie went through the family album and found this happy snap of them settling in under the stars at the Teapotterville Caravan Park. It wasn't really a caravan park, it was just Katie's backyard but they loved setting up the tents for sleepovers! We used to do this as kids during the school holidays - loved it!!
I recently made a Teapotter card where I completely mucked up the sky, so I cut the sky are out and turned it into a night scene. I have done the same here, but this time it wasn't due to a mistake, I actually wanted to do it like this. I tried stamping a face into the moon but I got a bit carried away with the silver ink and nothing was going to make an impression - not even Stazon!
All of the colouring was done with Prismacolour pencils and highlights were added using Copic markers. To take the 'new' bright look away and make it look 'old' but still bright, I gently swiped over the card with a walnut stain distress ink foam blending sponge, just using the ink that was already on it.
If there isn't enough colour on the blending tool, simply bang it on the distress ink pad, then scrub most of it off, leaving just enough to transfer a smidgen of colour.
Thanks so much for looking, I had a heap of fun making this, especially knowing it is going to a fellow Teapotter.

So fun! Love your gals, tents, moon, sky, walnut stain, and die cuts. A card full of treats and surprizes. You can always send it to me accidently like you did one time so I can see it in person! Lol. Great card, sweet girl! I remember back in the day when I could sleep on the ground and not worry about bugs, showers, or hair. Hugz

Oh Boy - did this bring back some wild memories. Yes - this is definitely me at Ayres Rock (Uluru now) some 40 years ago (he he he). Our tents were not as pretty as these either. You could easily think that the moon in the background is Uluru too. A lovely "Susie" card that bought lots of smiles and giggles to me.

Oh Susie this is so super darling. Love the tents and the patchwork. I use to camp when I was a kid and just had a great time but I did not like all the spiders. They would hang on the inside of the tents and I was so afraid they would land on me. I bet these tents don't have any. Just too cute!

Oh, this is just a fabulous and fun night scene, Susie. Those little campers are just having a blast. I was always (and still can be) afraid of the dark and could never camp out all night. What a baby I was. Ha
