Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she is giving us a timely and beautiful color combo—Real Red, Whisper White, Dapper Denim and Smoky Slate. The dessert option is "Something Patriotic."
I immediately thought of this adorable bird, with his top hat and flag! I used watercolors that were very close in color to Real Red and Dapper Denim, but by the time I had them watered down, the red turned out kinda pink!
I also wanted to use my new alphabet dies, and I did—although not without some bumps along the way. I cut the letters out of red, white and blue, but when I put them against the white card base—oops! The white S disappeared! Hence the silver S—and thus my substitution of silver instead of gray.
For those who sympathized with me last week about my cutting difficulties, I want you to know how much I love my new Scan 'n Cut 2. I used it to cut out the bird, hat and flag. It did a great job for me, right out of the box!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
