Well, let's just say that this card was a real journey! Last Friday my friend Becky and I got together to play with her new Distress Oxide inks, and we decided to try to watercolor with them. At the end of the day we both went home with something far less than we had hoped. So I put mine aside (not totally unhappy with it), and then the next day I decided to spray some water on it (after all, Jennifer McGuire said that the ink really intensifies...cool, eh?) Well, let's just say that the ink did intensify and that somehow it "bled out!" LOL! I added some water to undo some of the damage with paper towels/tissues and put it aside again. After seeing Mary's wonderful color challenge today, I looked and thought that perhaps I still could salvage this "puppy." I got out the colors and my pencils and found some that closely matched today's colors. It's okay, but it could be better. But then I wanted DESSERT! Not being a mixed-media kinda gal, I looked through my stencils (yes, I have them but haven't really used them) and found one I just got. So I used it to make my own background. Now I'm not totally happy with this card...it's way out of my comfort zone, but I must say that I am happy to have salvaged the card...hehe!
So thanks for hanging in there with me, and thanks for the close-up look at my card. I really appreciate it. And thank you, Mary, for a fun challenge. I managed to get all the colors in, and I really enjoyed it. Hugs, all! xoxo
P. S. I just realized that this works for April's Dirty Dozen theme...woohoo!

If anyone was going to make it work, it was you Cheryl... The weird thing for me is my favorite part is the I'm assuming where the colors of the flowers bleed out. I have a hard time putting any color onto my white space.... and this looks really good I am always afraid to mess it up my coloring.... Awesome and brave my dear..... and btw, the stencil looks just like dp... love that too.

I think it's wonderful and are glad you decided it was worth saving. I like the little blurry feeling it gives med. Like watching though moist or an old window. Just beautiful!
It may not have gone how you wanted, but I think it is rather beautiful! I should try watercoloring with my distress oxides. The bleeding color makes a great shadowy area.
