These cards are for Sabrina's fun Ways To Use It challenge - Umbrella.
I couldn't decide between my favourite Unity stamp or Umbrella Man, so I decided to do both. I gave Umbrella Man a bit of a makeover, I cut his coat shorter, trimmed down the leg width and cut out an underarm.
His scarf is 3 strands of fancy floss (I don't know what I was thinking when I bought that stuff in every colour about 6 years ago).
Both of the backgrounds are from my card yesterday. Skip this bit if you have already read it....I started by sprinkling Brusho powder on my el cheapo A3 sized water colour paper then squirting on a heap of water. I got a bit carried away with the brusho's and water, it was resembling a river so I quickly whacked an A4 sheet of cardstock on it to mop up the water.
The watercolour paper was still oozing inky water so I took another piece of A4 cardstock and this time I gently placed it over the watercolour paper and rubbed my hands all over it to mop up as much as I could. The great thing is I have two A4 sheets and an A3 sheet of watercolour paper all in various strengths of blue Brusho.
This bit is new...The initial watercolour paper was very warped when I went to put it away, there was also a couple of sheets of white cardstock on my desk and a spray bottle...you know what happened next...I sprayed on more water and I ended up getting 2 more A4 sheets.
Umbrella man is cut from one sheet and Unity girl is from the last sheet. Brusho's really are the gift that keeps on giving. The grain of the w/c paper looks like a mesh stencil on these cards.
Thank you for looking, I hope I haven't bored you to tears. I hope you are having happy inky week.

Oh DS Susie, I never tire of reading of your creative process!!! I haven't viewed the gallery in several days and will of course check out the "original" sources of your bg madness! These cards are fantastic and love them both, but I LOVE what you did with the guy!!! Great design choices of slitting his jacket and adding the folds and the floss scarf was ingenious too! Seriously, I am learning so much from you, love your details!!!!

Your choice of images and quotes/sayings are the perfect choices for it too! Love your details with the coloring of the girl image and I just love the scarf you've added to the male! these are so cool I love how the colored water pooled up in the textures of the paper and that you altered that guy ( I don't have him) and how you used that chick ( she is one of my favorites because, of the cool things Ive see you do with her)
