This is the card I made to honor Rita (scootsv), our featured stamper this week. Congratulations, Rita, for an honor truly deserved! What a fabulous gallery!
When I saw this wonderful card, it brought to mind a project I had abandoned. Thanks for the inspiration to get it out and do something with it, Rita!
I'm sure this technique has a name, but you stamp with VersaMark on glossy cs, sponge ink over the image, and stamp the image again with Stazon. I die cut the word "happy" and backed with a piece of acrylic. I backed the image piece with a piece of black craft foam that had a rectangle cut out of it to match up with "happy", added the beads - a few too many! - and put another piece of acrylic over the cutout to seal in the beads. The shaker was matted with black cs and attached to the card base.
I added the die cut "Birthday", and a small flower and butterfly. Since there were stray beads on my work table (of course), I used a pokey tool to add one to the flower center and butterfly.
I hope you like my take on your spritzed flower, Rita.
As always, thanks for looking!

Truly beautiful, Jody. You created such depth to your dogwood image and the lovely green/pink shading sets the blooms off so wonderfully. The bg literally "glows".
