... and they reminded me of a technique that I have been having fun with this week. I learned it from Kim Dellow and the link to her video is . Bascially, it entails spreading paints around on your bg with an old plastic gift card.
I love the look, and so simple. I have another card with this same technique here.
After I created the bg, I splattered diluted paint in white and black, and then I stamped the Gentle Whisper flower multiple times with my MISTI to get a dark impression. I used Versafine ink and it took a long time to dry (over night), so next time I might try a different ink to see if it dries faster. I cut off the part that I liked, made the frame with dies (creating an inside mat which I love) and mounted it with dimensionals. I love how this turned out!
