Hello, dear friends! Well, would you believe I've dared to try water coloring again? Yes, and it really takes practice, practice, practice. And I still need more, but here's another card that was inspired by this dress. I really loved so many dresses and had a hard time picking one, and I love wearing dresses myself, since we live in South Florida. I stamped my image in Old Paper distress ink and then started with the leaves (Peeled Paint and a little Mowed Lawn later), the dahlias (Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Barn Door, and a little Abandoned Coral), the blue flowers (Blueprint Sketch), yellow flowers (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber). I added some extra yellow and blue flowers by just dabbing -- and I must say that it was fun and something I'll try again! I especially like the blue ones in the top left. I finally decided to try a color wash around the image in Antique Linen and wish I hadn't. But it was too late -- live and learn, right? Since I love blue, I decided on a blue mat and a cream card base -- and that was that. I still have a long way to go, and I keep looking at Sallie's and Linda's amazing work for inspiration, among others. And I will keep practicing, especially since I finally bought some good brushes that really help a lot.
So, sweet friends, thanks for taking a closer look at my card, and I hope you like it. It was absolutely fun to take part in this week's Inspiration Challenge. I look at it every week and just can't seem to get a card done as quickly as so many of you can. I am a tortoise, and it takes me a long time to decide what to do and then make a card. I so admire the hares on SCS! Have a great weekend, my friends! Hugs!

Cheryl, I don't think you need any more practice at water coloring....this is Absolutely Stunning! You've colored this flower arrangement so Beautifully! Your beige bg is Perfect and the blue border is very smart indeed! Lots of depth...quite attractive~

Cheryl, it's beautiful, and I really like the colour wash. It's made your card look very 'vintage'. Your colours are beautiful. Thanks for a great inspiration choice today.

I don't know how much better a water color could get than this one already is (awkward sentence). This is beautiful, Cheryl. Your water color skills are fantastic.
