The current ODBD challenge is something old, something new. I've made this birthday card for a special friend using old ODBD sets and my new Spellbinders Edgeabilities dies.
After making my first couple of Screen Divider cards(link to tutorial) late last year, I realised that I only had one die and no punches that would work for creating a decorative border along the top. I bought a set of Spellbinders Edgeabilities, thinking that the one inch repeat of the patterns in them would let me use a 12" strip of card scored at 3", 6", and 9". Perfect for the purpose...
I used a Labels 1 die to create the legs.
For the image panels, I chose Lily of the Valley and the Chicory from Don't Worry because this is going to a French friend, and Lily of the Valley is such an iconic French flower - little posies are traditionally exchanged between friends on May Day. Visiting her was also the first time I encountered chicory - I don't believe it grows here. It reminds me of a holiday in Corfu, Greece. We must have been there just when it came out, because the first week of the holiday we hardly saw any and then the second week all the roadside verges were a wash of pale blues.
After colouring the images with pencils I added sponged colour while the panels were still in the die.

This is gorgeous! What a special card for a special friend. I am going to save this and maybe get ambitious to make a few special Christmas cards in this format.
