This is for Janelle's fun mixed media challenge "In Abundance" with the intent on organised abundance - my take on the challenge is to use the entire A4 piece of cardstock and lots of stencils, various stamps and the same sentiment on each card to imply organised abundance....I hope.
A4 paper/cardstock size in Australia measures app 8.3" x 11.7" almost the same as US letter size 8.5" x 11. I did not cut the A4 sheet until the background colour was done.
Start by squirting Dylusions ink spray onto large piece of aluminium, spritz with water, dunk cardstock in inky puddle. Move around until you have the desired effect. Partially dry. Next medium is Distress ink - smack Evergreen bough, Cracked pistachio and Peacock feather onto the al foil, squirt on a LOT of water and once again swish and press the cardstock into the inky puddle. Dry.
Do the same smack, squirt and dunk thing with a few drops of Izink and a bucket load of water - at this point I was not looking for more colour, but more the shimmery effect that Izinks give.
WARNING: If you haven't used your Izinks in a while, not only will the eye dropper have seized up, but the lid will be super hard to undo. Running under a hot tap would probably solve this problem....banging it on the side of your craft desk gets the bottle open, unfortunately it also causes the glass bottle to break at the neck. On the plus side, the ink is so thick and gunky that nothing dripped on the floor.
Once cardstock is dry, cut one side panel 4" wide - this is for the long tall card. Cut another 4" wide panel, then cut this panel into 4" squares, these make the 2 square cards. The left over panel makes an A5 card and a little gift card.
Next step was to use various stencils along with white Dylusions acrylic paint, applied with a stippling brush. The birds were stenciled using a sponge dauber and diluted distress inks.
Final step is to add the stamped images and sentiment. This is where MISTI is invaluable - all the work that has gone into the background is so easily wasted if the stamping doesn't work or look right.
Taking one card at a time, I put the card in MISTI, laid a large piece of acetate on the card and then stamped images to see if the card looked balanced - if I wasn't happy, simply wipe the ink from the acetate and start again.
All cards are stamped with the same sentiment as they are going in my local HYCCT stash.
Thank you for looking.

Absolutely stunning what you can do with a piece of WHITE (!) cardstock and your talent with inks!!! Love the way you use your stencils and the stamps you use along the edges to create "scenes" with your long legged birds - I am in awe of your talent!! Way to go!

Wonderful abundance of cards, Susie! Love the masterboard bg you created and used for all your cards. Great choice of textures and stamps, and what a fantastic idea to use acetate in your design before stamping. Genius!

I always love reading your descriptions, Susie, and then I take in all the beauty of your creation. To make this many cards without smudging, ripping or otherwise destroying them would tale me weeks. These are just gorgeous. The bgs are beautiful and each one is a work of art.

Oh no Susie I am so glad that your Izinks are think enough to have not stilled to make a mess. Your stories on how you create your cards are always just an amazing as the cards. Today in my mind I am reading your story and I am seeing you just whizzing around paper moving, ink flying up and around and the Izinks all going at the same time, kind of line an octopus with 8 legs...ok that is what was going on in my head so I am sure it is much more controlled than I imagine. Super stunning in abundance cards you created.

What a Gorgeous array you have here today!!! Each a Susie Masterpiece. The white dot stenciling adds such depth to each piece! As always I love your doodled edges. And the flower and leaves silhouettes are the perfect touch with the long-legged birds. Lisa (Shoe Girl) and I must have been on the same wave length. I envisioned arms flying every which way, water splashing here, there and everywhere from the squirt and smash routine...water dripping onto the floor from your dunked cardstock. However, my vision also included you wearing a long black plastic trash bag with a hole cut out of the closed end for your head to pop through and cling plastic wrap swaddled around each arm. I think I also saw your husband in the background painting the walls.....again. But I firmly believe that whatever accumulates on the walls is just "character" added with love. Something to be treasured as fond memories. More power to you! Love whatever it takes for you to get to your Amazing finished product!

What a brilliant idea, Susie! I will have to have a go at using a whole A4 sheet. Superb idea, I love how your cards turned out.
You are convincing me more & more on the Misti, I've been in 2 minds whether to invest in one.
Thanks for your comments, made me smile!
